About
I am a qualified hardware engineer and electronics technician, holding certifications from **City & Guilds**, **I-ECDL**, and **CompTIA A+**. I have spent many years providing professional electronic repair and technical services to the public across a wide range of industries. Through my previous business, **WG IT Computers & Consoles**, I repaired and serviced a wide variety of electronic equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, gaming consoles, medical equipment, and automotive electronic control modules (ECUs and other vehicle modules). This extensive hands-on experience gave me a strong understanding of both electronic hardware diagnostics and software-based fault finding.
My technical career began with an apprenticeship at Ford Motor Company in Dagenham, where I developed a strong foundation in engineering principles, automotive electronics, and vehicle systems. Building on this experience, I expanded my expertise into computer hardware, firmware and software by obtaining industry-recognised CompTIA certifications. This combination of automotive engineering and information technology has enabled me to develop a multidisciplinary skill set spanning electronics, diagnostics, computer systems, and embedded vehicle technologies, providing the technical foundation for my work in electronic repair, diagnostics, and automotive locksmithing.
Today, as an automotive locksmith, these skills come together naturally. Modern vehicles are sophisticated electronic systems that rely on complex hardware, embedded software, immobiliser systems, transponders, body control modules (BCMs), and network communications. My background in electronics, computing, and automotive technology enables me to diagnose faults accurately, programme keys and modules professionally, and provide customers with reliable, technically competent solutions based on years of practical engineering experience.
For me, automotive locksmithing is far more than simply cutting and programming vehicle keys. It represents the culmination of decades spent working across multiple technical disciplines, combining extensive experience in engineering, vehicle technology, electronics, computer hardware, firmware, software, and automotive diagnostics. Every stage of my career has contributed to the knowledge and practical skills I apply today, allowing me to approach automotive locksmithing with a depth of technical understanding that extends well beyond key replacement. This multidisciplinary background enables me to diagnose complex vehicle security and electronic issues and provide solutions informed by years of hands-on experience across interconnected industries.
